November’s spotlight is on Lee Saulter. Lee is a State Purchasing Officer assigned to the University of Illinois at Chicago who has worked for the State for 7 years. Before coming to the Chief Procurement Office, he worked for Chicago Public Schools. He has been in State government for 7 years and in Public Procurement for 14 years.
Tell us something about yourself that most of us don't know:
I restored a 1967 Chevrolet Camaro.
What was your first job or your most unusual job?
My first job was at a neighborhood clothing store, as a janitor. I was 15 years old.
What is the best perk you've had at a job?
Bonuses!
What is one important skill every person should have?
The ability to listen.
What is one of the things on your bucket list?
Visit all 50 states. Six more to go.
Tell us about your pets:
Do not currently have any, but I am a dog fan. Have had a beagle, basset and several shelties.
When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?
An automobile designer.
What is your favorite season (winter, spring, summer, or fall), and why?
My favorite season is Fall. The climate is best, the leaves change colors and it's football season!
Have you ever played a musical instrument? Which one?
Yes. I used to play the alto saxophone in middle and high school.
