Scam Alert: Fake Emails Impersonating CPO-HE

Be alert for fraudulent emails attempting to steal your banking information, login credentials, credit card details, or attempting to request payments. The Chief Procurement Office for Public Institutions of Higher Education (CPO-HE) will never request financial information or payments via email or text message and only in limited circumstances request personal information. To confirm official communications and legitimate emails from the CPO-HE, email eec.cpohe@illinois.gov.

Sole Source Reports

Section 20-25 of the Illinois Procurement Code (30 ILCS 500/20-25) allows contracts to be awarded without using a competitive method of source selection when there is only one economically feasible source for an item. Because these are exceptions to the normal practice of competitive solicitation, sole source contracts require heightened scrutiny and may include a public hearing before they are awarded. The sole source process is open and transparent and the Chief Procurement Officer is required to file a report annually detailing use of the sole source procurement method.
